The Jim Boland Collection
Ian Coomber, VBOA Chairman
One of the highlights of the recent VBOA International Irish Tour was a visit to the private car and bike collection of Jim Boland. The collection of over 70 vehicles is quite staggering and unfortunately photography just cannot do it justice. Now over 80, Jim still does all his own restoration work, including white metalling and paint spraying. He kindly gave us a conducted tour of his cars and workshops. He has two Vauxhalls in the collection: a 23/60 imported from Australia and called "Blighty" and 30-98 OE4 which wears its original narrow E type Velox body. Star of the show was a RR Silver Ghost that defied description. Pathetic pictures are in the Gallery section.
