26 May 2006  International Success for VBOA Club  Ian Coomber, VBOA Chairman Between May 19th and the 22nd the Swedish Vauxhall Register hosted the 2006 International Vauxhall/Bedford meeting in Gothenburg. As part of the rally itinerary 52 cars, vans and trucks, including 17 from UK clubs, attended a major Swedish classic car show at picturesque Tjolöholm Castle. Over 1500 cars were on view and the Swedish Vauxhall Register won the best stand award, having assembled an international display that surpassed even Volvo in numbers! In addition to the UK and Sweden, Vauxhalls and Bedfords spanning the years from the twenties to 2002 came from Germany, Holland, Denmark, Norway and Switzerland. Superb support was received from Vauxhall who sent their 1903 four-seater to head the event as the oldest car present. Next year’s VBOA International Rally will be held in Switzerland.
