Lotus Carlton wins Chairman's Cup

The Chairman’s Cup for the best car in show at the 2006 VBOA National Rally at Billing Aquadrome on July 9th 2006 was won by David Franczak of the Vauxhall Sports Car Club with his superb Lotus Carlton. The Victor Cup for best modified car was won by the Calibra Turbo of Steven Armstrong, the Treasurer’s Trophy for best unmodified car post 1976 was won by Sarah Stuart with her Nova Cabriolet and best unmodified pre-1976 car was the Opel GT of Carl Borgia which won the Griffin Trophy. The decisions were arrived at by a popular vote and the winning margin was just one vote.

The Vauxhall Bedford and Opel Association (VBOA) comprises the 24 UK and 8 overseas owner’s clubs that represent the Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel marques. Over 2000 cars attended the weekend of the event which was sponsored for the second time by Classic and Collectable Club Insurance Limited.
