Vauxhall 7/9HP bought by Reis and Geiske van Leeuwen Ian Coomber, VBOA Chairman
As many VBOA members know, Dutch Vauxhall enthusiasts Reis and Geiske van Leeuwen have an amazing private Vauxhall museum behind their house which contains over 25 cars and a treasure trove of Vauxhall memorabilia (See the Gallery Section under 05-05-2005 International Rally, Holland).
Reis has now purchased a 1905 7/9HP three-cylinder Vauxhall to crown his collection. License number A 317, it is a splendid open two seater, chassis no. 3cm31, finished in yellow. Pictures of this delightful car are now in the Gallery section. The car is currently one of only two running cars, the other being in the Vauxhall Heritage Collection. Hopefully they will be joined next year by a third car owned by Nigel Gray (Gallery Section 10-04-2006).
Reis could not be a better custodian of this rare survivor of Vauxhall's third year of car production and one of the first built at Luton.
